Dhaba style Dal fry Tadka Recipe/ Tarika in English

We all love Dhaba style Dal Tadka or Dhaba Style Dal fry. Here I have given some simple steps to make Dhaba Style Dal Tadka or Fry at home and add taste to your food. Try it. You can serve it with Roti  and Chawal  and make North Indian Platter. Dhaba style Dal Tadka/ Fry recipe is available in Hindi (हिंदी) and English both.

Step 1:-

How to prepare Tur/ Arhar Dal:-

Ingredients for Tur/ Arhar Dal:-
  • Arhar /Tur Dal – 170g
  • Water – 700 ml
  • Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder – 1.5 teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder – 1.5 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1.5 teaspoon
How to prepare Arhar /Tur Dal:-
  • Take Arhar Dal and soak it for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, wash it and keep in a cooker on high gas with water.
  • Put Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder and Salt in it.
  • Close lid and wait to whistle.
  • After 2 whistle simmer gas, so that it cook well.
  • After 4 whistles close gas, leave it in steam.
  • When steam is over, open the lid, mix it well.
  • Your Dal is ready.

How to prepare Dhaba style Dal fry:-

Ingredients for Dhaba style Dal fry:-
  • Onion finely chopped – 1 piece
  • Tomato finely chopped – 1 piece
  • Green Coriander finely chopped – 15 gm
  • Green Chili finely chopped – 1 piece

  • Cumin whole – 1 teaspoon
  • Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Asafetida – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pure Ghee – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
How to prepare Dhaba Style Dal fry:-
  • Take a kadahi on high flame and put Pure Ghee in it.
  • Put Asafetida in it when hot and after it fries put Cumin Seeds in it.

  • After Cumin seeds fry put Onions and fry them till it is reddish.

  • Now put Red Chili Powder, add Tomato and Salt, fry till it changes its color.

  • Add all Green Coriander and Green Chili to it, wait for a minute, add Dal to it.
